There are some amazing BYO craft catch ups around Brisbane. This one is a little different. Here is how it works:
There is no start or end time. Feel free to drop in anytime or for the whole period 9am - 3pm
You can bring your sewing machine (limited spots) or a craft of your choice to work on (no paint or liquids please)
If you are not sure what to do, there will be a selection of materials to make things with or make and take crafts on the day for as little as $10 to make a pair of earrings. Message us if you have questions.
What's included?
All Day Snacks, tea, chai and coffee (from a machine!)
A space to create. Sewing bookings have access to a solo table
A selection of basic materials for people who are not bringing their own project
6 hours to finish a project (without distractions of home) or as long as you like to take some time out
The venue has large tables and comfy chairs to work at and even a veranda overlooking bushland and the Pine River!
This event will be the first one, to see if people are keen on having a regular catch up that is long, or short enough for their particular craft project!
FAQs
What craft can I bring?
You are welcome to bring any project you are working on. The only things we can't host are activities with paint/varnish etc and any power tools other than sewing machines. Please email if you have any questions.
Think, collage, fibre art, beading, drawing, sewing, polymer clay (I have a wee oven)...
If you are not sure what you would like to do, I will always have some basic supplies to get you started on some cute projects. I also will have my MYO earring bar where you can "Make and Take" earrings for $10 a pair.
Are there ironing boards and irons for sewists?
There will be an ironing board and iron and you are welcome to bring small sewing irons with heat proof boards. If you book a sewing table, you will have the whole table to use. It is big enough for a machine and overlocker or for 2 friends to share with 2 sewing machines (approx. 2m long)
What about lunch?
We are a short drive from shops if you want to pop out for a bigger meal for lunch or you are welcome to Uber eat. There will be all day snacks in between (fruit, sweet treats, savoury snacks etc)

Join us at VEND Annerley for a creative way to swap your clothes with someone else's epic wardrobe, catch up with friends and have a fun morning out.
This event is perfect for anyone who has some epic pieces of clothing in their wardrobe and doesn't want to have to sell them on faceook marketplace or shlep them to a market. These are pieces that are crying out for a new owner so come and swap your pieces for someone elses epic clothes and have fun while doing so!
Here’s how it works:
Bring along 10 pieces of gently loved, freshly washed, and ironed clothing or accessories (no underwear or activewear please) and trade them for up to 10 pieces of clothing from everyone's contributions on the day.
While we set up the racks,browse the markets at VEND or take place in the creative workshop on offer. Tickets to this will be available seperately.
Clothes registration from 9.30am. Swap Opens 11.30am

10 tokens to exchange for fresh wardrobe finds.

Join us at VEND Annerley for a fun get together to make some cool bespoke necklaces.
I’m seeing so many cute recycled bead necklaces all over the internet right now… and I keep thinking — what if we just… made our own?
How it works
Everyone brings two beaded necklaces they don’t wear anymore — broken ones, old ones, ones that just aren’t your vibe anymore…
…and we literally pull them apart and mix all the beads together so people can share the stash and create something new and individual.
I provide all of the fixings - Clasps, wire, string, tools and bead boards, key rings and phone chains.
You leave with two brand new creations that actually feel like you .!
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for anyone who is keen on having fun and experimenting with design. You don't need any special skills and I can talk you through different methods of finishing your necklace off (clasp, knots etc)

JEWELLERY SWAPS We all have broken jewellery, earrings that have lost their partner, things we just don't wear. Come along to a jewellery swap with these pieces and contribute to a giant stash to make NEW pieces. Earrings, necklaces, brooches! I provide all of the findings you need and we stop this from ending up in the bottom of drawers or landfill!
MINI MASTERPIECES It's daunting to think about creating something on a huge canvas so in this workshop, we focus on a 10 x 10cm canvas and the magic of collage to re-use a whole range of cute bits and pieces to create your own mini masterpiece on an easel.
POCKET POTTERY I guide you through using polymer clay to create pocket sized creations! You take home a hand-made, hand baked creation!
MYO EARRINGS My OG Workshop. Choose from a massive stash of earring shapes to make your own pair of earrings!
CHARMED IM SURE Using Shrinky Dinks to create your own personalised charms. In this workshop you add them to your own charm ladder necklace or make a pair of earrings for your own signature piece. I always have a small stash of extra findings to elevate your creation.
ECLECTIC BEADING Raid my stash of recycled beads and make your own necklace or bracelet while catching up with friends! For an even more sustainable experience, check out my jewellery swaps too!
LATCH HOOK WEAVING Learn to latch hook but also take advantage of the collective vibe and make your own cute wall hanging. I also show you all of the other possibilities with this cool craft.
DOPAMINE DECOR Take a beige piece of everyday decor and go nuts to create a chic, kitch piece using a bunch of cool materials
PLAY WITH CLAY This is a fun all ages class that introduces you to the basics behind most hand build pottery techniques! We use air dry clay so there is no need to fire your piece.

You have access to a treasure trove of materials so all you need to bring is your imagination! These workshops are run as a series so you can explore different ways to make decor that makes you happy.

I run a number of workshops with open-ended creative opportunities including latch-hook weaving, bargello stitching, embroidery and sewing coil baskets.
Once you learn some of these basic and meditative skills, the possibilities are endless in terms of what you can create. This is a great alternative to scrolling through your phone!
